Texas is home to many different predators such as mountain lions, bobcats, coyotes, gray and red fox, badgers, and raccoons.
The Hunt: While we hunt either day or night, the majority of our predator hunts are at night. This is because these animals are more nocturnal, especially bobcats, and respond much better to calls at night. We utilize electronic devices and mouth blown calls to attract the predators. Your guide works the call while shining a dim red light searching for the glow of the eyes of an approaching predator. Once one is located, the guide will tap the hunter on the shoulder to let him know that one is on the way. Most shots are less than 35 yards so shotguns are best while longer shots may require a small caliber rifle.
